DJI, a leader in drone technology, has unveiled Firmware 7.1, a significant update for its Enterprise drone series. This update encompasses various drone models, including the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series, M300 Series, M30 Series, and DJI Dock, offering users improved flight safety, enhanced data-capture capabilities, and more efficient collaboration tools.
Firmware 7.1 brings several key updates to DJI’s Enterprise drone series, ensuring a superior user experience and heightened safety for operators:
1. Geocaging on DJI Dock, M30 Series, and FlightHub 2: Geocaging enhances flight safety by restricting drone operations within defined geographical boundaries. This feature is now available on DJI Dock, M30 Series, and FlightHub 2.
2. Offline Geofencing Unlocking: Users of the M350 RTK, M300 RTK, M30 Series, and Mavic 3 Enterprise Series can download geofencing unlocking certificates for remote areas without internet connectivity, enhancing operational flexibility and data security.
3. DJI FlightHub 2 Live Flight Controls Update: DJI FlightHub 2 now offers live flight control updates, enabling users to remotely control drones and gimbals in near real-time through the cloud. This feature provides greater flexibility for DJI Dock operations and includes PSDK control, thermal palette and SBS display, and coordinates retrieval.
4. Pinpoint Coordinates Sharing: Compatible with DJI Pilot 2, M350 RTK, M300 RTK, M30 Series, and Mavic 3 Enterprise Series, this feature allows users to easily share precise locations with ground teams using scannable QR codes, improving coordination during operations.
5. Mission Planning Interface Optimization: DJI Pilot 2’s planning interface has been enhanced, simplifying mission planning for mapping and inspection missions. Users can define mapping areas by selecting vertices, input desired Ground Sample Distance (GSD), and utilize advanced settings like Real-Time Terrain Follow.
6. Safe RTH and Safe Resume: This feature is available for M30 Series, DJI Dock, FlightHub 2, and DJI Pilot 2. It allows users to designate “No-Return Points” during waypoint missions, ensuring the safe return of the drone, especially in complex or high-risk environments. Users can also resume missions, considering previously tagged No-Return Points, in the event of interruptions.
7. Set Gimbal Angle for POI Orbit: Exclusive to the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series, users can now set the gimbal angle when utilizing Point of Interest (POI) Orbit, enhancing control and precision during reconstruction missions.
8. Geocaging: This feature, compatible with FlightHub 2 + DJI Dock and M30 Series, enables companies to manage fly areas within worksites by defining restricted fly zones. It ensures compliance with regulations and enhances safety for critical asset inspections.
9. AirSense Display on FlightHub 2 and DJI Dock: DJI AirSense, an alert system that detects nearby aircraft with ADS-B Out transmitters, is now available on FlightHub 2 + DJI Dock. It provides real-time information about potential collision risks, enhancing safety during drone operations.\
10. Developer Upgrades: FlightHub 2 + DJI Dock now support edge computing expansion, enabling pre-processing of media files and other enhancements for improved operational efficiency.
Firmware 7.1 empowers DJI Enterprise drone users with advanced features, enabling them to fly with confidence and obtain valuable insights while adhering to the highest safety standards. These updates enhance the drones’ capabilities, making them more versatile and suitable for various applications.
