Firefighting Drones Could Be Operational in the UAE as Early as Next Year

Starting next year, drones equipped with water tanks will be utilized to tackle fires in high-rise buildings across Sharjah.

This cutting-edge technology is designed to improve emergency response times while also ensuring greater safety during critical situations.

A prototype of the drone has already undergone successful testing, demonstrating its ability to spray water up to 15 meters from a 5,000-liter tank. Additionally, the drone is equipped with sensors that can detect heat sources and assess their intensity, allowing for quicker and more efficient responses.

Currently, the drones are being fine-tuned to boost their capabilities, with discussions in progress regarding increasing their maximum height. Initially, two drones will be deployed, with plans to expand the fleet if needed.

Investing in drone technology is viewed as a more economical alternative to conventional firefighting ladders. The introduction of this innovation has been welcomed by local residents, who support the use of advanced technologies to enhance safety in emergency situations.
